Parking citations may be issued to vehicles parked in violation of the UL Traffic Code on Â鶹ҹÊÐ properties by Transportation Services enforcement personnel. Enforcement times are from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Residence Halls are enforced 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Citation Fines
- Many citations are $35.00.
- Parking in the Wrong Zone: $50
- No Active Permit or Non Registered Vehicle: $50
- Illegally blocking access to a handicapped stall: $100
- Illegally parking in a handicapped spot: $300

A vehicle may be either immobilized or towed at the owners expense if there are three or more outstanding citations on the vehicle. An immobilization (boot) citation is issued which adds a $100 fine to the total due on the vehicle.
If you feel a citation has been issued improperly, you may file an appeal within 4 class days of the issuance. Citation Appeal
Boot/ Immobilization Process
Vehicles may be immobilized if:
- The vehicle has three or more outstanding citations
- The vehicle removes or changes plates on the same vehicle
- University Police will be notified as well
Booted/Immobilized vehicles will receive an additional $100 immobilization citation that will be included in the total amount due.
Pictures will be taken before and after the immobilization device is placed on the vehicle. If device is moved or tampered with, an additional $200 Tampering with Immobilization Device Citation will be issued
All fees must be paid prior to close of business in order to remove the immobilization device the same day. Fees may be paid online through the Parking Portal or at the Transportation Services Office located at 619 McKinley in the Olivier Parking Tower prior to 4 p.m. At 4:30 p.m. a Tow Service may be contacted and the vehicle will be towed OR the vehicle may be left immobilized indefinitely at the desertion of Transportation Services. If a vehicle is towed, additional charges will be due to the Towing Company for their service and will not be included in the amount due to the University.
Temporary Handicapped Parking Needs
The Office of Transportation Services will strive to help students, faculty and staff with mobility issues. If you require handicapped parking accommodations, you MUST first have an active handicapped license plate or placard/hang tag from the State of Louisiana, Mobility Impaired card and drivers license all belonging to the individual parking on campus. Transportation Services does not issue temporary handicap parking permits..
We are, at this time, unable to provide parking for any temporary medical issues. We will not accept doctor's notes or anything other than the appropriate handicap credentials from the State of Louisiana OR the state in which you reside. If you have questions, please contact us at 482-6858.
